This week’s must-reads:

But, first: I’m sending out my second newsletter this Thursday for the ladies who are a part of the Catholic Wife, Catholic Life private, online Community! I’m including things like prayer tips, saint quotes, recipes to try, and budget-friendly fashion & home goods. You can sign up to receive the newsletter here.

1. “Mothering your own grieving heart is an act of love too.” – Laura Kelly Fanucci

2. “Being a good actor or a good producer: that’s not going to help me sleep at night or get me into heaven. The most important thing from where I sit is to be a good father, a good husband, and a good human being – a man who helps his fellow man and raises his kids to be good human beings too. Every single aspect of my family life is joy.” – Mark Wahlberg

3. What You Can Do to Become A Saint

4. Jesus asked in the Gospel reading on Sunday, “What do you want me to do for you?” He asked nearly the same question in last weekend’s Gospel: “What do you wish me to do for you?” He wants to give us what we want… He wants to know what we want (He wants us to tell Him)… And maybe in continuing to seek Him and share this with Him (this special intention, whatever is inside your heart), maybe then that intention will transform into the type of prayer that wants to just be closer to Him. To see, like Bartimaeus desired, Christ more clearly.

5. “I have studied long and intensely what the Tradition of the Church has taught about what happens to miscarried babies who die without Sacramental Baptism. I have read the documents, prayed out it, discussed it, and wrote an article explaining it all. I knew in my head that there are good theological grounds to hope that God would work outside the ordinary means of salvation (Baptism) to free children who die before they are able to be sacramentally cleansed from Original Sin. But last week my heart learned what it really meant to hope this, to believe in this, to “entrust them to the mercy of God.” (CCC 1261)

I have a feeling that from now on, whenever I pray the first of the Glorious mysteries of the Rosary that I will find my miscarried children in that room with the Blessed Mother and her risen Son.” – Susanna Spencer

6. “Take courage, get up, Jesus is calling you.”Mark 10:49

7. How to Rebuild Intimacy in A Marriage – Even Through Dry Spells

8. “Here’s not all the answers, but one of them: God calls us to grow in our weakness. It’s actually precisely in our weakness where we will find Him. Our ability to lean on Him and trust in His plans are tested and strengthened through the struggle.” – Tena Jeppesen

9. Yes, the Holidays are Coming. No, You Don’t Have to Lose Your Mind (How to Say No during Advent)

10. “I have nothing left, but I still have my heart, and with that I can love.” – Bl. Chiara Luca Badano
