“Mother Angelica has said (paraphrasing) that those who write about the Saints are going to be in big trouble (with God) for not telling the whole truth about the real struggles the Saints faced. I really liked reading this, because it’s a thought I’ve had so many times, myself. When I hear about the Saints, about their generosity, their love, their sacrifices — it’s hard to imagine myself living a life comparable to them. But when I hear about the bumps in their road, about their own sufferings, and their own vices, I can relate to them more — I can see their humanity & better hope that I can, too, overcome sin.
