In celebration of his latest book, Dr. Greg Popcak is writing a short series over at Patheos about the eight habits that separate “marriage masters” from “marriage disasters.” It’s essentially a list of habits that can help you get the most out of your marriage.
One of my favorites is the second habit Dr. Popcak mentions: Emotional Rapport & Benevolence.
“Why Is This important?
“Galatians 6:2 says “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
“Happy couples do exactly this in good times and bad times. They look for ways to take care of each other and make each other’s lives a little easier or more pleasant, especially in times of stress and disagreement between them.”
You know how we all go through seasons in life? Well lately, I think the season I’m in is all about this… about helping each other through the good times & bad; this definitely isn’t only applicable to marriage — it’s about every relationship we have!
There will be good times.
And there will be bad times.
But we can lighten each other’s load.
We can make each other’s days a little easier.
