Here are this week’s must-reads:
+ “Knowledge can make someone great, but only love can make them a saint.” — Fr. Mike Schmitz
+ “St. Mary Magdalene shows us concretely that a saint who loves much is simply a person who is aware of the extent to which she has been loved — and forgiven. But it is not enough simply to have been forgiven… It is her love in response to forgiveness that makes her, and every saint, so great.” — St. Josemaria Escriva
+ “If He speaks, show up. If He is silent, show up. If all you can see is the empty tomb, trust that He is right behind you. The best thing we can get out of prayer is not an epiphany nor an emotion, but Emmanuel Himself- God with us.” — CFR writing about Mary Magdalene seeking Jesus
+ Here are a few simple ways you can celebrate the feast of St. Anne on Friday:
Buy a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I like sunflowers for St. Anne because they take months to grow and they’re a reminder that beautiful things are worth the wait.
Bake a sweet treat that really takes some time. Start working on it today! This process of planning, preparing and working on something that you have to wait to enjoy can remind you of St. Anne.
Look back at how God has worked in your life. How has He been present, how has He surprised you? Look at your life today and trust that He is near and that He loves you. This season is for *something.*
Pray with the Psalms. Mary knew them and likely learned them from St. Anne.
Think of your grandparents. Call them if you can. Pray for them. Think of how their faith has made an impact on your life.

+ “Jesus reveals a key characteristic of his narrow path: hiddenness… Applause from others, social media likes—it all fades quickly. Only the affirming word of the Father can fill our hearts. What does this hiddenness look like in real life? Because Jesus embodied it perfectly, let’s consider his life for guidance. Jesus spent 30 of his 33 years on earth (about 90 percent of his life) in relative obscurity…” — Rich Villodas
+ “The Eucharist is the secret of my day. It gives strength and meaning to all (I do) … Let Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament speak to your hearts. It is He who is the true answer of life that you seek. He stays here with us: He is God with us. Seek Him without tiring, welcome Him without reserve, love Him without interruption: today, tomorrow, forever!” — St. John Paul II
+ “No one can be made happy unless he rise above himself.” —St. Bonaventure
+ “A tired Hallelujiah rises just the same.” — propel women
